These terms govern your use of shariannevis.com (the “Site”), operated by Shari-Anne Vis, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. By using the Site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. The Site
The Site presents my artwork, writing and professional information. Content is provided for general information and enjoyment. Showing a work on the Site is not an offer to sell it. Availability, titles, sizes and other details may change or contain errors.
2. Intellectual property
All artwork, photographs, illustrations, text, design and other content on the Site are protected by copyright and other laws and are © Shari-Anne Vis, 2026, all rights reserved, unless stated otherwise. Some illustrations were created for books published by third parties, whose rights in those books remain theirs.
You may view the Site, and share links to it. You may not copy, download for redistribution, reproduce, modify, publish, sell, print, or create derivative works from any content without my prior written permission.
No scraping or AI training
You may not use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to harvest content from the Site, and you may not use any content to train, fine-tune or evaluate machine-learning or generative-AI systems. I expressly reserve all rights, including the right to opt out of text-and-data mining under applicable law.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to: break or bypass security or access controls (including the administration area); attempt to gain unauthorized access; introduce malware; overload or disrupt the Site; use the Site unlawfully; or impersonate me or misrepresent your relationship to me.
4. Contacting me
If you email me, please do not send sensitive personal information. Messages do not create a contract, agency, or any obligation for me to reply or to sell you anything.
5. Third-party links
The Site links to third-party sites (for example Instagram). I do not control and am not responsible for their content, terms or privacy practices.
6. Newsletter and shop
You may subscribe to the newsletter by entering your email address on the Newsletter page. Your email address is used as described in the Privacy Policy, and you may unsubscribe at any time. The shop is not yet available. When it launches, additional terms (for example terms of sale covering pricing, taxes, shipping, returns and payment) will apply and will be shown before you buy.
7. Disclaimer
The Site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. I do not guarantee that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I am not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Site. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including any mandatory consumer rights you may have.
9. Privacy and cookies
Your use of the Site is also subject to the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
10. Copyright concerns
If you believe content on the Site infringes your rights, email me with details (what and where it appears, and how you are affected) and I will review it promptly.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. Subject to any mandatory rights you have as a consumer where you live, the courts of British Columbia have jurisdiction over disputes.
12. Changes
I may update these terms from time to time by posting the revised version here with a new “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Site after changes means you accept them.
